Operating system

Ubuntu 22.04

Description

This is a docker image running in a Ubuntu 22.04 VM(Proxmox 8.2.7) with 8 vcpu, 16vRAM, 410G HD space and Nvidia+Coral passthrough and nvidia-container running ok.

Using Synology Photos, facial recognition is not working on personnal space, but works in shared space. Same behavior with a 2nd account (my girlfriend's). It goes "62 pictures to be discovered" and goes out after 10 seconds.

Nothing in docker logs. Tried re-indexing and no success.

Tried with homes in primary hd, and have not tried yet to move home folders to 2nd dms mount.

I believe you need to enable GPU passhrough (via GPU: "Y" in the compose file) for that. But it is made for integrated Intel GPU not Nvidia.

caublet commented 1 month ago

Pass-through is enabled already.. it works for 2 others containers.

Hello. What is the resolution here? I am using an AMD Ryzen with integrated Radeon GPU. I haven't got facial recognition working even though I have the GPU passthrough enabled via environment. Any idea?

caublet commented 1 month ago

I was intending to use an Nvidia gpu.. i dont know

ahorseman commented 1 month ago

But why was the issue then closed?

caublet commented 1 month ago

Because its not supported and feature works without nvidia gpu anyway

Ah - I suppose that you need an Intel CPU then with Intel GPU? I am using AMD Ryzen with Radeon graphics built in. That supposedly won't work then?

When I enable GPU in docker compose, I get an error on startup of the container.
