Questions on using "Forwarding Tag" and "protocol" #3

My email provider is not using a static IP address, as it seems to get a new IP address about every few days. Knowing that, can I use the hostname in place of an IP address required in the serveraddr= xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ?

2nd question, in the protocol= either "plain" or "http" what is the difference and how are they used in PiWxRx?

Forgot the 3rd question: Is there a way to test the Alert Email function without having to wait for NOAA Wednesday Test?
