App slowness anytime a request to hardware wallet is requested in Windows 10 #485

Hello Team,

Im having issues with sync, in general the application works fine but as soon as a connection to ledger is required it hangs for a minimum of 5min or so.

This behavior happens and can be replicated in such scenarios as :

Scenario 1:

  1. Click on "create a wallet"
  2. Click on "Ledger" in top right corner
  3. Application hangs

Scenario 2:

  1. In manager click on "login/start dApp"
  2. In pop up click on "proceed"
  3. Click "next" on next screen
  4. Application hangs

I tried a fresh windows install and the behavior is still present, whats interesting is that i created a Win 10 VM in which the sync app did not hang at all. I'm not sure if this is related to my machine/hardware ? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please let me know if i can provide any dumps etc. as i can replicate this behavior each time

hi @kon003 , base on the information you provided, please try the following solutions

  1. Download the ledger live application and try to connect the Ledger device to see if the issue still present.
  2. Try another USB port or use another cable to connect the ledger device. If the issue is still present, try to remove all the connected devices from the USB port and make sure ONLY the Ledger device is connected.
  3. Check the antivirus settings and make sure that the sync is added to the exclusion list. After doing that, check if the problem persists. If the issue is still present, you might want to try changing your antivirus configuration. If that doesn’t help, you can temporarily disable your antivirus and check if that solves the issue.

Moreover, please provide the following information

  1. WIN 10 version (eg. 20H2)
  2. Ledger device firmware
  3. During the Ledger device connection, it supposes to have 4 major steps of connection, which step the application hang occurred? if the ledger device is not plugged into the USB port, does the application hang?

I am also experiencing this problem. Win 10 20H2 Firmware is up to date: 1.3.0 I usually hangs before the 4 steps appear or on the first step.
