Practice Tool Not Opening/Unable to Use Online Mode #128

Hi veeenu, I have been trying to get the practice tool to work again (was working fine for a while, one day just suddenly stopped working), and it now crashes my game everytime I hold shift down to open it. My game runs when I don't try to open it, but I can no longer play online. I would appreciate any help as this is a great tool/project you've made! If you have installed it with the DLL method, you can revert that by just deleting dinput8.dll. This should allow you to run EAC again and thus go online.

The log you reported suggests there might be some other overlay software running - say RivaTuner, FRAPS, or similar. Is that the case?

I will definitely try to delete the DLL and see if it works, but I am not running any overlay that I know of? I have no other mods or anything (idk what those other things are)

Does the tool work if you start it from the exe?

If you don't have other overlays, it could be something related to graphics libraries. What operating system are you on? Is everything up to date?

Good evening, The tool works when I run it through the executable, but deleting the dinput8.dll did not allow me to play online (with or without the tool). Thank you for everything and again, let me know if there’s anything else you need from me!

Are you now running the game from the exe or from Steam? Inability to play online means that EAC is disabled. If you run the game from Steam, EAC should boot up and allow you to play online. That won't be compatible with dinput8.dll because EAC detects it and prevents the game from starting, hence the need to delete the dll.

I was running it from the exe but running it from Steam worked and it allows me online, thank you so much for your help!
