I suppose the answer ranges from "maybe somewhere on the forum", to "in the possession of the artist", to "no longer exists"?
In general, whatever sources were provided by the original artist were committed to the master repo, though you may be correct in assuming that there are many other sources in the whole spectrum of your answers.
There some possibilities, but likely yes.
That's about all I'm aware of for where to find stuff that might be missing.
All SVN data has been already ported to GitHub, so I reckon you may not undig anything new there. As for all VS engine mods, they are actually independent games (based on VS engine) and this project has never really stored art assets for those. Actually VS is a space sim game engine as well as a game playing in the VS universe (currently "Upon The Coldest Sea").
An other source https://forums.vega-strike.org/cpg/ our gallery on the web site
sprites/bases/Lava/Lava_source.zip
contains a povray file used to generate part of the lava landing images (when combined withlandingbare.png
).At least some of the other graphics look like they were created with povray, or in any case not hand-drawn pixel art.
Should I assume any such sources, if not in the repo, are now lost to time? Or is there somewhere they would be hidden away or someone who would have them?
