would an older version of vendetta work with it?

if you want to use vendetta sadly you'll have to use something more recent like 2xx.xx at least (you can try using 18x or 19x.xx but not sure)

Personally I'm on Discord Kotlin version 0.1 beta 17 build A711D and Vendetta works fine
