Multi-part password RAR archive won't unarchive #190

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

First of all, if you have any Haxies, InputManagers, SIMBL plugins or
similar operating system hacks installed, please remove them first, restart
the program, and make sure the bug is reproducible without them.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Multi-part RAR archive
2. Won’t unarchive, used Zipeg and it works as it should
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should be unarchived archive, but I get message: "Could not extract: ... :
Error on decrunching"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.2, Mac OSX 10.5.8

Please provide any additional information below.

Without the file in question, there is nothing I can do about it.

Well, it seems same error is manifesting every time I try to extract password
protected files.

None of the test files show a problem. Make sure you are actually running 2.0
and don't
have 1.6.1 still lying around.

I can confirm this error.
It is reproducible for me. I download TV-Shows off of serienjunkies.org, a
German TV sharing site.
They put the movie files up as multi-part RARs protected with a password.
I use BetterZip to extract them.
When using v1.x, I got the same error as above, with an "@" instead of the
filename.
I downloaded 2.0.2 today, as I was hoping that would make it possible, but it
actually starts by asking me for
the password, and then fails to unrar with the message: The content of the file
"XYZ.rar" could not be
unarchived with this application.
I would upload the files, but they are close to 400MB total, so it would
probably make more sense to
download the files from here:
http://download.serienjunkies.org/f-8079d19bfe2e9ee1/rc_himym0401.html
After entering the captcha, click the two download links for the two parts of
the file.
You will be taken to Rapidshare for each.
The password for unarchiving is "serienjunkies.org" without the quotation marks.

I hope posting this link wasn't illegal... but then the whole site would
probably have been sued already.

I don't get the same error, I get extraction that starts and runs about halfway
and then
stops with an error. It's the same error as the original poster got, though, so
I'll start
investigating it.
