Consistent Freezing (version 2.1) + Feature Request #219

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Lately with 2.1 when I double click on a file it will bring up the small
progress bar/box, but it will be all white and unable to close out of it.
The only way I can close the program and try again is to go to Activity
Monitor in Utilities and Force Quit.

Please make it so we're able to view the contents of the folder without
full extraction, sometimes there's extra files bundled with the file I
intended to download and don't want to have them thrown about my desktop.
It helps in tidiness.

Thank you.

That is not enough information to go on, as this does not happen normally.

There is one known bug related to this: If you have the program set to ask for
a
destination folder, and then cancel this dialog, something like this should
happen. If
this happens under other circumstance, please describe them in further detail.

(Also, don't combine different issues in one report, but anyway, that request
will not
be implemented, as it makes the program far more complicated than it is now,
and is
outside the scope of what it is meant to do.)

When you say "..but it will be all white and unable to close out of it." is
this what you are referring to...

If so, do you have the file that produces this issue and if so could you upload
so developer can reproduce?

I have the same problem, but it cannot be reproduced. Sometimes it just works,
sometimes it shows me the
white window shown in the attachment above.

In most cases the archives are splitted and passwordprotected .rar files.

Hope that helps
