Is it on vm or real hardware boot from usb? If boot from usb does the usb got disconnected because of loose usb? Show some error and dmesg if possible.
Very real hardware (hp 4core CAD box), started up with the iso on a dvd, logged in as venom, tried a few basic tests, all seemed ok for a first testrun until I got to the shutdown, that failed, did nothing, and then I tried using logout, then warnings on screen with no way of capturing, ie keyboard locked up, mouse unresponsive, touchscreen unresponsive, only the power switch worked.
I shall have another go tonight, check for /tmp/* error messages before i start to shutdown, and also see if I can list at least the basic part of the error message as it seemed to be a reocurring message for the most part, but it flows off the screen at a decent rate.

i'm going to have a go under a easyos container and see if I can capture the problem, as trying from a dvd just wasn't working (too fast, too many lines scrolling).
Looks like your harddisk problem. Those input/output error.
maybe, but if so it's something missing / changed for this dist as the box works ok for my other systems. went back to the rc1 dvd and that works ok for logout/shutdown.
anyway playing withe scratchpkg at present and checking it's working within easyos for building, so feel free to close this if you want, but there is something that's appeared there post rc1
Logged in as User 'venom' then tried to shutdown from the menu got a openbox box with the following error: Failed to execute child process "sudo" (Input/Output error)
A pile or error warnings lines too when trying to use logout from menu had to use power switch to actually shutdown.
And this is one of the workstations that 'behaved' with 3.0-rc1
