What happened?

Boot fails with the following error. (Copied by hand, so there might be typos, and irrelevant details omitted with ...)

zstd: stdin: not in zstd format
...
Welcome to Fedora CoreOS 39.20240104.3.0 dracut-059-16.fc39 (Initramfs)!
...
[...] systemd[1]: Failed to isolate default target: Unit sysroot.mount not found..
[!!!!!!] Failed to isolate default target.
[...] systemd[1]: Freezing execution.

Ramdisk mode fails with a different error (mount timeout), which then drops into maintenance mode instead of freezing.

I upgraded from a very old version of Ventoy (can't remember which) to the latest, and both versions have this issue.

I burned the ISO with Rufus and it was able to boot successfully (suggests incompatibility specific to Ventoy).

CoreOS support was previously fixed in #1727.

Thanks for this great tool! 🌮
