Is there is /dev/mapper/ventoy in your system?

Ahmed-Soudi commented 2 years ago

i removed all the other disks while installing vtoyboot on ubuntu that is installed on usb while it's running physically and that error happened! i didn't check if /dev/mapper/ventoy exists, but i don't think it does.

how to install vtoyboot on physically loaded ubuntu before cloning it into vdi and changing the extension?

Why does this error appear? I will try to explain/report in detail in order to provide useful data.

Followed the instructions word by word but I get this error, the funny thing is it worked the first time I tried it and I was able to boot successfully directly. Created the virtual machine using VirtualBox, installed Mint and that's it, it worked.

Been trying over and over and just fails, same error. Then decided to restart and try version .24 and same error (went back thinking perhaps .25 broke something) but no, just refused over and over. You asked about /dev/mapper/ventoy, and no there was no such thing. Was about to give up and then it just worked !???. I have no idea what's the difference except perhaps repeated boot/restarts?

Ventoy is a nice tool, thanks for the work, I'm already using it to boot Windows VHD configs, I hope some light can be brought over this on Linux because it's not consistent, I mean, it's not clear on why it works at times. This is my simplified report.
