What are you trying to do?

With P&T now focusing support on CKEditor rather than Redactor would it be possible to see this being compatible with this plugin as well?

What's your proposed solution?

Support Footnotes with the P&T CKEditor plugin https://plugins.craftcms.com/ckeditor?craft4

@engram-design Any thoughts on this one?

It’s not on my immediate roadmap, just because it’s a completely different implementation. But it’s something we’ll look at eventually.

Being in charge of a huge museum archive project here in Germany, we have editors relying heavily on the current Redactor/Footnotes combination for publishing scientific cultural research articles via the website. These include loads of footnotes, spread over many Matrix field contained Redactor fields.

Not being able to switch to CKEditor might become a big problem in the near future when the project has to be upgraded to Craft 5. Especially since this is a not a temporary marketing site but a cultural project which is meant to be public for as long as possible, regular upgrading will be crucial over the next years.

So a big +1 for this request. Here we’d even be willing to pay a recurring plugin fee to have this as a professional plugin and not just a freebie.

We are about to install this on a client project because it's the perfect implementation for our needs. We don't have immediate plans to upgrade them to CKEditor, but obviously something we will want to do eventually. So we too would love to see support for it! ❤️

Same here! +1 for supporting CKEditor. We have a client that publishes hundreds of scientific papers and footnotes are paramount. Would be delighted to see this on your Roadmap! :)
