Insert a mail link #238

Question

I can't see a way to allow the user to insert a mail link with the toolbar button. The link button does not allow a mail link to be inserted. What would be the easiest way? Should we create a custom button?

There's not a dedicated mail link type, but it's something we (or you) could potentially add. Prefixing the link URL with mailto: will do the trick, but that's not particularly client-friendly.

The only reason I might suggest not including it, is that it may add bloat to the link dropdown. Do we also add phone numbers, sites, etc?

Well, I would say that with mail and phone, you'll be covering a large area of the user's need because they would be able to add some categories, assets, entry links, some external links (these options are already available in the toolbar), mail, and phone. That is enough for some standard usage, I guess. At least, the user should be able to add some mail links, considering that Vizy is a tool to add some very large portion of contents, it is inevitable that some mail link has to be inserted.
