Byobu Fn keys not working on Windows #1610

Open khuongduybui opened 7 years ago

khuongduybui commented 7 years ago

Issue

I cannot use Byobu F2, F3, F4, F5 functions (new window, next window, previous window, repaint current window). F6 (soft-exit) and F8 (rename) works, however. I have tried byobu from an ssh session into a Ubuntu 16.04 box, doesn't work. I have tried byobu on bash on Ubuntu on Windows, doesn't work. I have tried byobu on Ubuntu inside a docker container, doesn't work either. I have tried both screen & tmux mode for byobu, none work.

Any updates?

khuongduybui commented 7 years ago

ping. Updates?

ppot commented 7 years ago

you can try lastest master and set your own command keys

Stanzilla commented 6 years ago

Hey there, please try again with the new Hyper v2 release and open a new issue if the problem stills exists. Thank you!

khuongduybui commented 6 years ago

Can we repon this? I just tried on Hyper v2 and still gets the same behaviors.

albinekb commented 6 years ago

Is it default behaviour that the terminal sends escape codes for all the Fn keys? 🤔 Does this work in vscode terminal?

khuongduybui commented 6 years ago

No it does work in Visual Studio Code terminal either. What is driving me nuts is why F6 and F8 work but F2, F3, F4 don't?

justfool commented 6 years ago

I have the same problem too the keycode of F1 ~ F4 didn't match the terminal type xterm-256color

showkey -a shows the actually key send by Hyper is ^[[11~(F1) ~ ^[[14~(F4), buf terminfo expects \EOP(F1) ~\EOS(F4).

For temporary workaround, save following to ~/.hyper.ti and run tic ~/hyper.ti then change $TERM to hyper and start a new byobu sesstion, the function keys works for me.

I have this problem too. I use Hyper 2.1.2 stable on Windows. When I use hyper running bash.exe then ssh+byobu, fn keys work abnormally. If running cmd.exe, it works.
