Hyper glitch on closing the laptop lid #3389

[x ] I have searched the issues of this repo and believe that this is not a duplicate

OS version and name: Ubuntu 18.04 x64_86
Hyper.app version: 2.1.0(stable)
The issue is reproducible in vanilla Hyper.app:

Issue

When closing the laptop lid and opening it again. Hyper has glitch and needs to be restarted again to work. The issue however occurs using nvidia graphics in x server settings. Here is a attach ss of the issue. screenshot from 2019-01-05 21-17-27

I am on Fedora 30/Hyper 3.0.2 (stable) on Gnome and am having exactly the same issue. Seems like in its current state Hyper is pretty much unusable in most Linux environments, alas.
