There's been some updates to xterm and other dependencies, I'm not seeing this behavior in the latest build. Can you please give it a try once here Also, what's the keyboard locale/region you're using (maybe that's why I'm not able to reproduce this)
I am using the no-nb locale (Norwegian Bokmål). I don’t think I’ll be able to find the time to test it, but if I do I will let you know of the results!

Issue
I remember why I gave up hyper and went back to iTerm 2: https://www.loom.com/share/c0782ad83e9541359a6538ee27e7e028
These backticks and some other characters are appearing about 20pxs to the right when I trigger them, and then they move to the correct place when I write a new character or move the cursor with the keypad.
Also happens without two plugins that I have active in the screencast: "hyper-whimsy", "hypercwd"
This has been like this since v 2 if I am not wrong.
