Using Nvim leaves black "marks" on in the hyper terminal

• The issue is reproducible in vanilla Hyper.app:

Issue

Using neovim in hyper with Nvim-tree leaves black marks(see screenshot below) in hyper. They disappear if I make another tab or open a new window. I have tried disabling all plugins, the issue persists.

I'm getting the same issue with 3.3.0 and Neovim 0.7.2

EDIT: Downgrading to Hyper 3.2.3 eliminates the issue
