Makes desktop personalization crash on Win7 x64

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install StExBar 1.7.2 64 bit version on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version.
1.Right click on desktop, choose 'Personalize'.
2.Click on any theme. 

Result: it crashes the explorer process instantly, sometimes preventing theme 
switching. Once StExBar is uninstalled and the system rebooted, the problem is 
gone. 
This happens in two different systems: at home, I'm on Win7 x64 Ultimate build 
7600 on 
a Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs. At work, I use 7 Ultimate OEM (Dell, don't know build#) 
on a 6-
gig Core i5.

I regret having to uninstall such an useful tool. If any more info is required,
