Open the internet explorer (yes, IE, not the normal explorer).
In the menu Tools, go to "internet options". Go to the "Programs" tab.
Click the "manage add-ons" button.
In the "Show" combobox, switch to "All add-ons".
Now you should see "StExBar" listed on the right. Make sure it is enabled.

Hello
I'm having the exact same problem related above.
My difference is StExBar is not listed in IE
add-ons management, even when I select show all.
This is happening even after uninstall and reinstall
StExBar, restarting my computer after each one.
I'm running win 7 home premium 64 bit
and installed StExBar64-1.8.3.msi
Can you please help me?
I like very much your bar and I will appreciate
very much if I can continue using it.
Really ot of thanks in advance
Miguel Garcia

I solved this issue (StExBar x64 1.8.2 on Windows 7 SP1 x64) by ensuring that
the StExbar add-on is enabled in the *64bit* version of Internet Explorer 9.
Once that was done, the greyed-out text of the StExbar item in the toolbars
menu of the *32bit* Windows Explorer was now active, and the toolbar could be
displayed. (The StExbar x64 toolbar does not display in the add-ons list of the
*32bit* Internet Explorer, even when the toolbar is active in the *32bit*
windows Explorer--and this is exactly right!)
