Hotkey for internal edit box does not work on Windows 7 #139

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. A hotkey can be defined (say Ctrl+Shift+E) for StExBar Internal Edit box but
pressing the hotkey combination does nothing. The focus doesn't go to the edit
box like clicking in the edit box does.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The focus (edit cursor) should go to the edit box by say Ctrl+Shift+E (similar
to how Ctrl+E takes edit cursor to Windows Search box). The hotkey doesn't take
the cursor to the edit box.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.8.1. on Windows 7 32-bit.

The hotkey for the edit box is Ctrl-K

Yes but isn't the hotkey changeable? Ctrl+K doesn't work either. The focus
isn't going to the edit box. :)

The hotkeys only work if the explorer window has the focus.
And if that's the case, it works just fine for me. And not just on this machine
but on four different other machines too.
Make sure you don't have another tool installed that uses the same hotkeys.

Yes I am also talking about them when the Explorer window is active. All the
other hotkeys work for me for 32-bit Windows 7 but the Ctrl+K or custom hotkey
for edit box does not work. Works on my Vista 32-bit. Tried uninstalling and
reinstalling. I have no other toolbar installed. :)

Maybe you can find out what is different between your machine where it works
and the one where it doesn't? Because as long as I can't reproduce it, I can't
find out why it doesn't work and can't fix it.
