This PR bumps the kotlin & kotlin coroutines versions to the latest available

I have removed the codetrans reference from the readme since it doesn't seem to be used anymore.

I had actually forgotten about this PR. Kotlin 1.8.0 seems to be around the corner but until it's released, this should at least be updated to 1.7.22.
