Is this still an issue?
Actually, no. It's working fine over the past several days for me, since I've decided I can return to profitable mining on my own P2Pool node once again. Somehow, the whole network seems much more fluid now than it was right around the halvening. Perhaps it's just that the demand from so many miners has dissipated, and P2Pool can once again deal with the traffic, I don't know. Obviously, difficulties have dropped considerably across the network, as the value of VTC has stagnated around 50k sats and the block reward got cut. I'm sure that has something to do with it, but I am concerned that P2Pool suffers so much under that kind of stress. I won't get into my personal philosophy over what amounts to a technical issue that you're diligently following up on with me (I appreciate that!), but Vertcoin's expressed core values hold decentralization in the highest regard.
Thanks for checking in! -Eric

No problem, glad this was resolved. Closing the issue.
Tried dumping data directory and re-running. Only Network 1 loads shares and runs correctly.
