I'm not a native speaker but I don't think the article is required here.
This is briefly discussed in the comments here (with the participants disagreeing though; I couldn't find anything better): https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/230011/father-to-vs-father-of#comment492132_230011
I tend to agree with "we are relating a role, not an identity"
The main reason no article is used is actually this one: This way, relationship terms from the chart can be re-used (in this case: "Relationship: second cousin twice removed descending") Do you think an article should be added here as well? Note that the original webtrees chart doesn't include one here either.
Also, including an article would require further translation strings in languages like German where the article would have a grammatical gender.
If relating a role, should the statement be more like 'SKG is A second cousin of RAM'? The role being Second Cousin. Chances are there will be more than one second cousin!!
Same as Mother and Father except that would be birth mother adoptive father etc so the statement would be The Father, The adoptive Father..
Identity IMHO is more like what we have at the moment..
And as an after thought, if the identity being related against is dead then IS will be incorrect as it relates to current time. So WAS should be used IMHO
With English being a second language to you and I was never really interested in English at school we are both at a disadvantage.. I have asked my friend to chime in with his ideas.. He also uses WebTrees and your Modules.

NOTE edited to add 2nd para and change first para
I'm not sure if this is an issue or my misinterpretation of what is being displayed in the 'relationship to' line on the individuals page EG: SKG is second cousin twice removed descending of Richard Arthur "Rick" Malkin.
Should it be:
SKG is THE second cousin twice removed descending of Richard Arthur "Rick" Malkin.
THE is capitalised to show as added the display should be 'is the' in my humble opinion.
