We’re on a mission to bring an open conversation over the whole web. Use Hypothesis right now to hold discussions, read socially, organize your research, and take personal notes.

Mission: To enable a conversation over the world’s knowledge.

Hypothesis is a new effort to implement an old idea: A conversation layer over the entire web that works everywhere, without needing implementation by any underlying site.

Everything we build is guided by our principles. In particular that it be free, open, neutral, and lasting to name a few.

The project is very well explained in this short introductory video.

Is a new layer over the web the solution? Isn't it like putting a band-aid on your arm when what's really broken is the bone?
