But this is a schema change, which I wanted to avoid. But it makes sense, AAAAH! Shall we release 2.4 instead of 2.3.1 then?

After a MySQL Upgrade last summer we'd run into a problem reimporting a database (on the same machine!). The problem was, that the new MySQL did export as utf8mb3 (yes 3!). Just be aware of that could be an issue if you run into a problem.
