Fresh install and some computers are turning red instead of being visible through VeyonMaster. #943

Hi everyone !

Before I will explain my problem using Veyon, I really wanted to thank veyon's developers for their work.

Basically, we are using veyon in order to monitor some computers in a classroom.

I have installed the 4.8.3.0 version of Veyon in this classroom ( one computer got the Veyon Master, and the other ones are on the " slave " mode ). I used the key authentification mode and some computers got a red screen displayed on the Veyon Master. Whereas their configuration are the same than the others that worked like a charm.

How could this be ?

All the computers got a DHCP IP and their registration in Veyon Configuration from Master's side ( locations -> based on name of the pc and not ip ).

Is there a way to reach the Veyon.log file ? I tried to find it in the C:/Windows/Temp but nothing were found.

Last but not least, I used UltraVNC as a remote access control to all the computers. Is there an issue using Ultravnc within Veyon in a same computer ?

Is there a firewall issue or maybe some password that is not clearly decrypted ? From what i can comprehend I might be wrong...

I wish I had a solution because I am having the same problem. I've been using Veyon for years with essentially no problems. However, a new version of Windows was installed on two of my classroom computers and they no longer connect to the master computer. All computers have the same version of Veyon, same configuration, and same keys. A co-worker has the same version of Windows on his computers as the two of mine will that not work, and they are working just fine for him. I have been looking everywhere for a solution without success. If you discover a fix, please share and I will do the same!

Can you try to temporarily disable the UltraVNC service? Can you also try to use dedicated IP addresses instead of hostnames for testing? We had several reports where resolving hostnames did not work properly so I'd like to investigate if this is a DNS-related problem.
