I'd like to once again state that I love the idea of a pile bunker. A bomb-powered SMES might be a fun idea, although that still has no real point on account of any one engine providing infinite power. What if you could just stick loaded TTVs into rad collectors to greatly increase their output?
And while we're at it; mech-mounted weapons should be usable by people, albeit with slowdown and 2-handed like the minigun. And miniguns should be mech-mountable.

It isn't, but having choice is nice.
While I love the idea of the Pile Bunker, the suggested stats seem a bit weak considering that all the force of that maxcap bomb is being forced into a space less than a tile wide to propel a large metal spike into things.
Also being able to use it to oneshot regular walls would be really cool, maybe have it blast a hole in them (Like the sprite left behind when you thermite a wall)
The issue is if it was extremely strong with just a maxcap it may end up being OP as fuck. Right now I haven't played/coded with spess in a few months but I did get a basic proof of concept pile bunker made and it worked decently.
The wall thing is a good idea, the coded version had what walls it could break down increase as the bombs got more powerful. IE half a maxcap could mine asteroids, maxcap could do regular walls, double maxcap could do reinforced.
Since memers are gonna get toxins nerfed into the ground at this point I was thinking we need some actual shit to do with TTVs, and something for giga autismus to get out of seeking large numbers. The deepest lore on how a TTV could be used as a near infinite powersource will most likely be MUH PLASMA.
I'm gonna start designing/coding this shit and we need sprites/ideas so feel free to comment/feedback.
I'm working with the assumption since the alternative is destroying multiple departments and forcing a shuttlecall the toxins gear should be pretty decent, so if these ideas need their wings clipped please do comment.

Hand Held Pile Bunker Idea is it's a hand held weaponized pile driver, melee ranged but shoots a 1 tile long "driver" laser (same thing as the whip, but only one tile, for MUH JUICE). It's powersource would be a TTV but would be loadable with regular pressure tanks/chemistry grenades. Would be obtained through high level plasma/weapon research along with a ghetto craftable version. Melee damage would most likely be the light damage range of the TTV inserted, possibly tweaked if it gets too silly. For example a maxcap bomb (7/14/28) would have the pilebunker do 28 damage per direct hit. For the big number hunters at (25/50/100) you start one shotting fucks. Large cooldown between firing/hitting, most likely 1-5 seconds. If it isn't held with both hands it has a chance to do huge damage to whatever arm is holding it, if it doesn't explode it off completely. Would have audio tells for how powerful it's powersource is. If the powercreep hasn't crept enough perhaps additional functionality could occur as we go along. IE at say 30-40 damage it starts acting as a drill, being able to go through regular walls/asteroid walls with a speed depending on it's power. (could perhaps give toxins an actual use in giving miners a decent pilebunker instead of a diamond drill)
Mech Mounted Pile Bunker Same deal as the hand held one but it's on a mech, it could perhaps have a damage multiplier against other mechs/in general so we can have proper mech vs mech meme fights.
Rough Ideas
TTV Powercell/Generator Powercell with a storage capacity based on TTV yield. An alternative idea is it could generate power based on yield, ala potato batteries on other codebases.
Stun Bomb/Non destructive bomb Some kind of converter that instead of causing a shuttle calling explosion on detonation it instead acts as a flashbang on super steroids, perhaps it could also break windows/cause minor brute/burn etc in the devastation range.
