Game Freezes but can still see chat moving. #16039

Description

If I have to reconnect to the server after I've already loaded into the game, I'm shit out of luck. The game will completely freeze, and I can still move and interact with things, but nothing will move. I still hear sound effects too. Also, I'll see sprites move for a second and then it'll freeze.

Steps to Reproduce

1) Join in to the game 2) Disconnect 3) Reconnect

What you Expected

To be able to play the game.

What Actually Happened

I have to wait until next round to do anything. Dying and ghosting doesn't even fix it.

If you can reliably reproduce it, please file a BYOND bug report. This has been plaguing us for quite a while.

Isn't this fixed by downgrading byond?

last time, it happened to me a couple of hours ago. i closed byond, closed firefox and restarted byond, this fixed it for me; maybe there is some firefox plugin process messing around with byond, i don't know. try it next time.

note that this bug happened to me multiple times and it fixed itself alone after some time without downgrading byond.

This has happened to me FOREVER. I heard it's a RAM issue or something, related to toaster PCs. Do you play on a toaster?
