Zombies need to be able to identify other zombies #18327

A couple of days ago a wizard was using necromancy at people in medbay. While zombies were fighting humans and the wizard left, it turned us zombies into other chaos. With zombies and humans, especially ones covering all skin like in hardsuits unable to identify each other, it quickly lead to zombies biting each other constantly trying to figure out who was their enemy and who was another zombie. It was humorous as it was stupid, as even the zombies that round complained that there is no way to identify each other, and we were constantly knocking each other out until revival.

You can tell who is a zombie by examining them.

Killette2 commented 6 years ago

What gives it away then?

Pathid commented 6 years ago

Their description says they're a reanimated corpse. (Also it doesn't list any of the stuff they're wearing which is a big giveaway if they aren't naked.)

Killette2 commented 6 years ago

That's not what happened at all. The player zombies had all their clothing shown on examine and no special text such as being a reanimated corpse on their examine info. A hardsuited zombie was indistinguishable from a normal man to another zombie.

Pathid commented 6 years ago

That's interesting if that's the case. This is what it's supposed to say and I don't know how to recreate what you're seeing:

turned

I'm having trouble recreating this as well. I'm not sure what the wizard in question did to make this happen, but it happened. We were all suffering this issue and complaining about it in game, not just me.

That weirdness aside I do think it would be cool for them to have a HUD icon to identify other undead with the same master. Maybe I could just steal the one for shades.
