Flamethrowers don't do anything to hornet nests #18698

Open SonixApache opened 6 years ago

SonixApache commented 6 years ago

Description of issue

Flamethrowers don't do jack shit to hornet nests. They burn hornets pretty okay, as long as they're caught in the blast, but not the nests.

Difference between expected and actual behavior

Apply flamer to hornet nest, laugh as a hundred angry burning hornets panic and hit the deck smouldering amongst the ashes of their former home vs Apply flamer to hornet nest, get all my bones broken by really fucking angry hornets that are completely okay

Not exclusive to hornets. Apiaries in general don't have a fire_act and aren't any more flammable than an autolathe.

I thought flamethrowers were changed to actually do burn damage as well as set shit on fire. And that Aparies break when damaged enough.

"Default" flamethrowers don't seem to burn hornets, at least, not from Thunderdome testing. Maybe the default spawnable full flamethrower has a bad mix...? Either way, bees feel like they shouldn't be polyacid and toxin immune, popular ways of dispatching cockroaches.

I used a flamethrower to terminate many hornets, though it seems to have like a 20% chance to actually terminate them. And it straight-up deleted a bunch of them.
