I have tried 8 times in one round to turn a human into a ghoul, using cryomix to heal brain damage as quickly and efficiently as possible, while exposing them to increasing radiation.

They always turn into a simplemob nonsentient ghoul, even with mixtures including both alkysine and alkycosine, and even when manually performing brain surgery on them periodically.

I must conclude that sentient ghoulizing is completely broken, and a check somewhere is impossible to pass.

It's likely this feature has not been updated after radiation was reworked, years ago.

Not broken per se, but to become a ghoul, you need to be on deadly rad poisoning AND have around 800 spare rads "unprocessed" to be on the threshold. The problem is that having that many rads on deadly rad poisoning level gives you braindamage and the code calls for a multiplier of braindamage to roll for sentience or ferality, so even 5% braindamage is enough to cuck all but the luckiest spessman.
