making suicide reversible / survivable was a mistake look at these poor newfriends not understanding anything anymore
Suicide is supposed to put you in crit but the damage was reduced such that there was a bit of time between the suicide crit and actually dying, so if anyone wanted to prevent the suicide from "taking", they could have a chance (and the dude can just ghost while critted to succumb and die for good). Paroxetine simply removes the suicide flag that causes the suicide symptoms like o2 and blood loss, it also blocks any suicide attempts until fully metabolized. I remember a round where the viro released a suicidevirus and the only guy that survived was the clown that took paroxetine. As it is currently, it is kinda weirdly implemented. I feel the suicideflag should, instead of causing o2 loss or anything, just block any reagents except paroxetine from proccing, so you can't outheal it, but can stop it, thereby avoiding the suicidelimbo issue.
making suicide reversible / survivable was a mistake
Suicide was always outhealable, the thing is that most suicide damage sources were strong enough to put you in 199 out of 200 damage for death, or flat out kill you directly. A semi-reliable to get into suicidelimbo way back when was suiciding with a bottom tier battery while wearing a mask and glubbs. You had a like 50% chance to just get 60-80 damage and have the suicide flag enabled (which causes constant o2 loss) rather than collapsing to near death.
TIL paroxetine exists
It was mentioned that Paroxetine is whats needed to unfuck the suicided status, but that feels like a workaround for a bug/design flaw. Should suiciding be an instant and permanent self-removal from the round, or should it have this limbo/grace period where you can easily enter this state that just resembles a bug? Why is IV blood just deleted but iron works? What should this system look like? Why does it even put you in crit rather than just unrecoverably kill you outright on the spot?
