Wooden and robotic limbs taking damage from things that don't make sense #9454

Wooden and robotic limbs take damage from space, as well as the cold. They also can be cut for blood when making runes as a cultist. Wooden limbs also don't (?) take extra damage from fire, when they obviously should. Same with robotic limbs and electricity.

inb4 everyone has robot hands for free glubbs

If anything robotic limbs should take more damage from electricity, you dolt. You literally have metal for hands. You don't see electricians wearing Knight armor for a reason

MercuryDoll commented 8 years ago

Since robotic prosthetics are affected by EMPs, we can safely assume they aren't isolated, so the extra damage from electric sources makes sense.

Metal limbs could absorb the shock and fire damage, somewhat like a fuse.

I don't think popping them off completely is a good idea. But they could be completely disabled (as if you didn't have an arm/hand) and need to be repaired with cables and a soldering iron (cuz you know, it fried the circuits in the limb). Robotic prosthetics's major advantage is that they're easily repairable even by yourself, with the drawback that they break easily (malfunction from damage, EMP'd).

That said, when will prosthetics damage not be counted to the overall health? I've seen medborgs quite often rush to me, pumping me full of meds and wondering why i don't heal up, when i just need to slap my leg with a welder once to get back at 100 health.
