As of 82df49f259e713e588a192b91a12cad9c1bc6670, vg giraffe seems to get longer softclips on average on R10 reads than minimap2 does. But as of the WFA banding parameter search I was doing, I remember it getting shorter softclips. But that might not be true.
We need to work out if there's a softclip regression. If so, we need to fix it. If not, we need to improve the softclips on R10 reads.
