a new feature which allows to add certain columns to filter results, and also an error should only be thrown in dev env if files could not be copied.

Hi, looks promising, however there is always a but....

ActiveRecord .find(:all) is deprecated
please use unobtrusive javascript (:onChange for select box)
Take a look what happens if you have already defined several collection action_links (select box is rendered on top of existing action_links)
UI Design doesn t fit existing action_links
Application crashes if you define an association as filter_column
How may you specifiy more than one filter_column?
