Tram icon #142

Hello guys - wanted to say that you're the saviour of my personal maps
projects! Couldn't do it without all your hard work!

I have 2 things I'd like to mention:

(1) I was looking for a Tram icon - but there doesn't seem to be one
(unless I am just being silly and have missed it? - I searched both the
icons and issues pages). As in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tram - would
be great if that could be added to the icons! This is considered a very
different form of transport where I am (London).

(2) Lots of people like me that make manual maps (using Google My Maps)
have the 'pagination' issue caused by too 'many' placemarks where Gmaps
breaks the map across multiple pages, which then makes the map unusable
because you then cannot see the entire map. After a lot of searching I
managed to find this website:
http://sites.google.com/site/gmapstips/alternative-to-paging-on-my-maps
which shows you how to get around that issue using a KML. Very handy for
dummies like me! Just thought it might be a handy thing to link to on your
Project Home page.

Anyway, thanks for all your effort!
Matt

Thank for the tip using KML, nobody complained till today, but I will remember
about
this feature !

See you
Nico

Matt,

Thank you very much! This is a great tip. I have have this problem in all maps
I'm
doing. The solution explained in your link is to make one map for each type of
icons
and them link them into one "master" where the master is updated automatically
when
one of the linked in maps is updated. A quite smooth workaround!

I agree with Nico that this isn't really an issue with our icons, but I'm
guessing
some of our users could benefit from it. Unfortunately we don't have any space
for
putting the information. I will definitely save the link and use this in the
future,
so thanks a lot!

Nico, case closed!

Nico - thanks, that's perfect!
Matthias - happy to share! Definately not an issue with your icons... just a
silly
Google My Maps quirk...

Thanks guys
Matt
