Sorry to chime in late, but I had a thought.

There is a pseudo-multiplayer that may truly be what would fill the loneliness the game inherently has.

My idea is this: the ability to share trails. Integrating them into the game is a dream, such that we can share the trail itself in realtime, but the alternative is fine for us who are dedicated enough. Let's be honest, you made an amazing patcher, but it still takes effort most wouldn't go through, in order to play Superflight. That being said, performing some manual labor to download and actually "plug in" someone else's trail into your game isn't that big of a deal.

tl;dr: The ability to share trails, so we can have a "multiplayer" experience.

I'm less confident in a real time trail sharing mod as the game has absolutely no base for peer to peer networking. I'll explore the idea and if I have no luck I'll fall back a manual loading of a file containing the data to replay a trail to see if that's possible.

While it's certainly possible to have a site host the trails, I'm hesitant to do so simply because I want to avoid having to host anything myself. My inclination is to have some kind of curated list of high scores (similar to how the mods list is right now) with the option of manually loading a trail, so you still have the option of sharing your own with friends and such.
