Hello. Yeah, you'd have to either enable supports for the entire part, or use a support enforcer only for the reset button port/slot.
It's up to you, but I personally printed mine w/ supports enabled.
gotcha, usually i print with tree supports only where it can touch the buildplate so i guess i should mess around in Cura for a while and see what i can do. thank you for the quick response. i'll keep you updated when i finish the board.
do you think that this would be an adequate support beam for the part? sorry, i'm kind of a novice at 3D printing
No worries. I'm using Prusaslicer, it's my favorite slicer, and I'd set up something like this:
a scaled down support enforcer, that would cover the entire shape of the slot. when sliced, it would look like this:
I just printed a set of these, they print surprisingly well, considering the small features. I too use prusaslicer, and the default supports work great.
Be careful getting that support material out though.
update: i printed the bottom case by instead generating supports everywhere and blocking them around the arduino socket and audio jack socket as this was easier to do in Cura. Thank you so much for your help, i'll be sure to past my makes on thingiverse when i finish it.
heyo, i was just wondering about this part in particular, cause i feel like it won't print well without supports. Am I supposed to try to insert the button mid print or something to help it stay up?
Thanks in advance!
