No more actors and actor images are downloaded #33

First, thanks for this great tool. It turned my RaspberryPi OpenELEC media player into a device that's fun and comfortable to use!

But for some reason ViMediaManager stopped downloading actor infos and their images. If that helps, I edit the metadata directly on a mounted network share that supports creating symlinks and it was working when I used ViMediaManager the first time. Unfortunately I didn't let it run through all the films I have.

Any idea what's the cause or what I can try to make it download the actor info again? I find that a pretty valuable information to have in the media center!

It seems IMDb has made a small change on their fullcredits page, I've updated ViMediaManager to fetch them again, let me know if this build works correctly: http://www.mediafire.com/?8j6ve2f4je6et

Perfect, works again! Thanks a lot for the quick response!

One more thing: what is the difference between the Intel and the Cocoa version? I can't see one.

vidalvanbergen commented 10 years ago

The cocoa version is faster, it's graphics are smoother and is retina ready, but can run into a memory leak problem if you're downloading information for a lot of movies at once, the intel version is slightly more stable and doesn't have the memory leak problem.

Alright, thanks again.

Hi there Vidal

When using this version of VIMediaManager, I get a JSONException while updating or fetching metadata. I manage to get through updating a few movies/series before I the error appears and then I have to restart the application and continue.

Please see the attached screenshot. Also, if there are any logs or something that I could sendto assist then please let me know.

Cheers

If you aren't already, try using the latest debug build: http://mediafire.com/?8j6ve2f4je6et

and if you can, find out exactly which movie is causing the error.

Awesome. Thank you. I'll give it a shot and provide some feedback when I can.
