Android First

Pay-to-play Streaming App Template was first developed on Android:

• Here is the codebase for the template.

• Here is the documentation for how to generate an app from the template.

• Here is the link to download an app on Google Play which was generated using the Template.

• [x] The "Android first" release path was followed due to this being path of least resistance for distributing an MVP app into production.

This means:

• [ ] No app for Apple iOS products (iPhone, iPad).
• [ ] Nothing for Apple tvOS products (Apple TV)
• [ ] Nothing for Apple watchOS products (Apple Watch)
• [ ] Nothing for Apple macOS products (Macbook, iMac).

Specific Deliverables

This issue will be closed, and any bounty paid out, when an app has been generated using Pay-to-play Streaming App Template, and submitted to Apple's app stores for the following operating systems:

• iOS - for iPhone and iPad
• tvOS - for Apple TV
• watchOS - for Apple Watch
• macOS - for installing on Macbook / iMac

This would enable any person to generate their own Pay-to-play Streaming App for these platforms.

Scope of Work

The work should include:

• Architecture and Design of codebase for a single multi-OS application
• Software Development for all 4 release paths
• Prototyping and User Testing - find early users in Your Own Streaming Platform Telegram channel
• Manual Testing, with full documented test plan and scripts on github (example here)
• Security Audit Report, with responses to any vulnerabilities identified
• Documentation step-by-step guide for how to use the template to generate an app for submission

Specific Requirements

• App should have equivalent functionality as the Pay-to-play App Template for Android

• OS version support:

  • Must support iOS 4.2.1 and higher (when multi-tasking was introduced)
  • Must support tvOS 9 and higher
  • Must support watchOS 1.0 and higher
  • Must support MacOS X 10.10 Yosemite and higher

@criticaltv no offense, but if you want applicants, you should increase funding signifigantly or separate into multiple tasks. Creating four separate apps is a massive task, and at your current funding, the hourly rate would likely be far below minimum wage.

For clarity, this bounty was created on the understanding that Gitcoin bounties could be somehow crowdsourced, with multiple parties adding funds to a bounty. However this feature appears to have been disabled :(

Secondly, if you read the issue, you will note that it is not intended for there to be 4 different apps, instead to seek to develop a single application to work across multiple platform operating systems. There are frameworks emerging which can enable this, however they are perhaps not yet sufficiently mature.

Also, I'm interested to know what you mean by "minimum wage"? Which country's minimum wage are you talking about?

And finally, please note the scope of the functionality is very limited. i.e. this is not intended to be a complete application, more a simple MVP, as we are keen to not overengineer this by adding unnecessary complexity which would make for an unpleasant and complicated user experience.

@criticaltv I guess it is more reasonable given the simplicity of the app. By four apps, I meant that by supporting 4 separate platforms, it is sort of like having multiple apps. If you need more funding, you could try gitcoin grants: it is like kind of like patreon for OSS.
