Scatter - Alpha Channel Causes flicker #195

Hello,

On multiple Mac systems when using scatter in resolve, I notice that if the clip has any alpha (either embedded or if the shot is cropped with edit/input sizing/stabilziing/cropping for split screens etc) then there is a glitchy multicoloured glow that appears sometimes. As soon as the alpha is removed, it goes away (for example if the shot is stabilised and some slight blanking occurs - the glitches will come up, but as soon as it is scaled up to fill, they go away)

I have attached some stills, it is evident on the left hand side, as it flickers between nothing, green and red.

It has happened when using colour management and also when not. On Mac systems (both intel and silicon), since resolve 17-19

We've seen this issue a handful of times before. It's possible that Resolve doesn't clean up the alpha channel sometimes before handing it off to OFX plugins when in Performance playback mode. If you go to DaVinci Resolve -> Preferences -> User -> Playback Settings -> Performance Mode and select "Disable" does it fix the issue?

Alternatively, you can right click the OFX node and uncheck OFX Alpha -> Enable Screenshot 2024-08-19 at 6 32 59 PM

Hi greg,

Thanks for this! In this case the performance mode was disabled, and the issue still occurred,

But disabling the OFX alpha fixed the issue, thank you so much! ill keep this in mind for future occurances :).
