open the first (either by double clicking in the list or using M)
edit the name or description or timing of the marker
press ⌥↓ or ⌥↑ to move to the next/previous marker
What is the expected behavior?
Text and timecode changes should be preserved.
What happens instead?
All changes are lost.
Conversely, if you close the marker with the ESC key, changes are saved. Whether this is the correct approach is debatable, but is beyond the scope of this bug report.
