It's now (since https://github.com/vigour-io/packer-server/commit/210d8690b1b877fbe67e0662d081e4f4086d5f14) possible to get the full config (and current state) of a packer-server by performing a GET request to the /status
end point.
It's often useful to know which packer servers and serving which commit of which repo and other things of that nature. For example, ferry is integrated with slack to achieve this: go to the appropriate channel and type
status
to get a breakdown of the status of all ferries associate to that channel. It doesn't have to be slack, but there has to be a quick way to get the current status
