It's often useful to know which packer servers and serving which commit of which repo and other things of that nature. For example, ferry is integrated with slack to achieve this: go to the appropriate channel and type status to get a breakdown of the status of all ferries associate to that channel. It doesn't have to be slack, but there has to be a quick way to get the current status

It's now (since https://github.com/vigour-io/packer-server/commit/210d8690b1b877fbe67e0662d081e4f4086d5f14) possible to get the full config (and current state) of a packer-server by performing a GET request to the /status end point.
