I agree that there should be a maximum topic width setting available. This is
the
only thing that's keeping me from switching to XMind from FreeMind. I use
FreeMind
every day to keep a work log, and usually end up with topics that are long
paragraphs. In XMind, I can't read-em.
I know that topics can be manually resized, but this is more trouble than it's
worth.
Also, manually resizing topics leads to inconsistent sizes, while an automatic
limit
would make everything match up.

I vote for a default maximum width. After that the topic should be 2 rows.

At present, you can drag the topic leftside to fix its width while you are
editing a topic. Or, you can use "Ctrl+Enter" to change the line. It's handful.

It's been over 2 years since this feature request was submitted!
I'm running XMind 3.2.1 and there's still no way to easily set a maximum size
value for all topics.
I know I can manually resize each topic individually, but when you have large
maps with many topics this is completely impractical (would take so much time).
Please add this very simple and basic feature.
