problems importing from Word via freemind into XMind #136

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. XMind has no import from Word, Copy and Paste from Word into XMind is
not very usefull
2. use freemind (or freeplane) for copy and paste into a freemind mindmap
3. you get a well structures mindmap, save it
4. open this mindmap in XMind, its completly different from the freemind
mindmap: topics are duplicatet much time, many topics which are separated
in freemind are one topic in XMind, ...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: the same structure like in freemind
I see something different

even better would be a way for direct import from Word or (or RTF or
something else.

another needed feature is a general option for maximum topic width and
automatic word wrap in XMind. In the praxis it's not possible to edit each
topic with XMind and to change the width.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MS Word 2007
freeplane 1.0.34.beta
XMind 3.1.0
German Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
see attached freemind mindmap. you can open this in freemind or freeplane
and you can import into XMind.

oh, XMind will check about what caused this.
BTW, how do you make doc be structured in freemind?

I open the document in Word 2007, copy the document, then I past it in
freeplane (I
did not test to past it in freemind, but maybe this will work also in freemind)
:-)

hi, I do not use freeplane before. Maybe you can try to do that directly in
freemind.
 we will try here too.

BTW, structured txt files can be directly pasted into XMind with structure too.

trying freemind: it can't be used for this, freemind imports all in one topic
(one
more reason for me to use freeplane)
Importing structured txt files is often a solution, but not allways. First I
have to
generate the structured text file. XMind needs TAB, but for example on my Nokia
mobile phone there is no way to write TAB
