Proxy configuration in corporate environment and possible alternatives #174

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. go into the preferences/network connections
2. change the proxy parameters to match your corporate proxy
3. apply

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

We should be able to upload maps to xmind.net
But this is not possible, there is a message that pops up after a while saying
"sorry but we have encountered some problems when uploading your map. try again
?"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
version 3.1.1 on Windows XP SP2

Please provide any additional information below.

Since this seems to be a serious issue, it would be great to provide an
alternate uploading process directly on xmind.net (uploading .xmind file
directly)

Thanks

Your proxy may not be set correctly. Pls try again.
BTW, your suggestion sounds interesting. :)

I have the same issue (XMIND 3.1.1, Windows Vista Enterprise SP 1) and I am
quite sure that the proxy settings are correct. The corresponding entries in
XMIND's preferences are extensive and seem to be extracted from my system
settings.

As corporate proxies are notoriously stubborn and hard to work around, I second
Laurent's suggestion. A dedicated upload functionality available on the website
in each user's account would be an easy way to provide an "upload option of
last resort" should all else fail.

Thanks for listening,
Alex
