Can you extend Polaris2 instead of directly the Google Maps api? His library is 
built to be a base for what you are doing?

Hey,

Thank you for the information. I've looked into Polaris2 code, but it doesn't 
seem to be of much use for my code base.

Seems like we have arrived at the same conclusion regarding how to make GMaps 
API extendable.
