maven support? #72

Is there a plan to support maven better?
Right now it's a bit complicated to download from google and manually
install on the local maven repo. And for the sources to checkout from SVN.

You could push the jar and the sources on a maven repo. This would help
with the versioning scheme also, as I am not 100% what version I have
installed in the maven repo and what I have checked out from SVN.

If you want I can definitely help out.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

There aren't any plans currently, is there a maven repo somewhere that would be
suitable to push this to? Thanks

hello,
sorry for the late answer
I've found this that might be of interest to you
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1280470/maven-repository-for-google-code-proj
ect
-- I think the sonatype one is looking good

also, maybe you can use this
http://code.google.com/p/google-maven-repository/

either way, I can help you mavenize the project and push it to some maven repo.

full disclosure: I've never pushed to an open source repo before, but I don't
see it
as a big problem.

thanks

Hi Rich,

I would also love to see this JAR published to Maven. I have recently
published my
open source project "maven-external-dependency-plugin"
external-dependency-plugin/) to the Sonatype Maven repository it was pretty
simply to
sign up and configure my project for Maven support. If you would like, I would
be
happy to contribute by refactoring the project for Maven and creating the POM
file, and
getting the repository setup.

+1. I came across your project and wanted to use it, but installing that
dependency
in my local Maven repo is a pain.

tkgospodinov,

In the mean time, you can use a plugin that I created to pull down external
"non-
mavenized" dependencies like this one. In fact, I included the sample for this
specific JAR in my test code and online sample POM. Check out:
http://code.google.com/p/maven-external-dependency-plugin/

Thanks, Robert

With the jar pushed to maven central and the github source now building with
maven I'm going to close this off.
