HI!! I am user of Fedora, in his version 21. with cinnamon as desktop environment I installed the kdeconnect indicator from the repository copr, and I had the following problem, Kde works seamlessly connect, can make use of all functions, but, in the tray, the icon does not appear, i was think seems not find the right .svg file, however checked and are in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/devices as is supposed to be, Also try reinstalling from the rpm for fedora 20 which is in http://software.opensuse.org/package/indicator-kdeconnect and still have the same problem

Hello gnurichard, I doubt (CMIIW) that Cinnamon support libappindicator (the same indicator protocol used in Ubuntu), this is the same reason why this indicator won't be shown in Gnome. If Cinnamon have systray support (I dont know about this too) the only way to show is by implementing https://github.com/vikoadi/indicator-kdeconnect/issues/12, Or by writing Cinnamon's specific applet

thanks for your quick response. the problem is that in fedora 20 with basically the same desktop environment (cinnamon 2.4). The icon was visible, unless gtk 3.14 has something to do : /

I can't make any guess to what happened here. in fact, I don't even expecting indicator will show up in cinnamon. Can you make sure that Cinnamon does support appindicator?

can you try to run

killall indicator-kdeconnect indicator-kdeconnect

in terminal and paste here what the error code say? thanks

Cinnamon is the desktop environment linux mint , which is based on ubuntu , so I do not think you have problems with libnotify support . besides , I achieved using the indicator in Fedora 20 , with the same version of cinnamon ( 2.4) F20 to F21 , change only support gtk 3.14 and I'm not sure if the version of libnotify

This show me the terminal: WARNING _: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. _ Message: KDEConnectManager.vala:32: KDE Connect daemon found \ Message: Device.vala:73: device : /modules/kdeconnect/devices/934d661329e152d2

First of all I want to give you a titanic thak you @vikoadi for this excellent job, its one of the most gratest thing that I have in my linux Desktop. Unfortunately I can install the application but I cant get it work on Fedora Workstation 22 on Gnome Desktop. I've alredy complile the complete package and it says: "cannot Connect to KDE DBus service" happens the same thing with the package stored in OpenSUSE servers http://software.opensuse.org/package/indicator-kdeconnect. I get this on terminal indicatorgtk indicatorterminal

I'll be more grateful if you can help me to get it work on my Linux Fedora. Thank you so much @vikoadi

Secondly, this is for @gnurichard, can you tell me how to get the copr repository please?, maybe can be helpful for me.

hello @franciscoislas, do you have kdeconnect-kde5 instead of kdeconnect-kde? if so you need the newer https://github.com/vikoadi/indicator-kdeconnect/commits/KF5 branch
