CERN ROOT is notoriously hard to install an master. Especially on non-linux platforms. It seems that the ROOT dependency is useed only for a small integration utility. It would be much better to provide a PyRoot or CLING integration script on top of existing compiled code instead.
Together with #64 it could make the library cross-platform.
